As for the hardware, I am satisfied with the My Book around. Works reliably, is extremely quiet (is in mi under / behind the desk and can not be heard), low power consumption and we are therefore not warm. USB 2.0 is not as fast as FireWire 800, but ranges as Time Machine made completely halt and costs less than the studio version.
As noted by many other reviewers, the pre-installed software on the My Book and the property to sign up as virtual CD, very annoying and very difficult to get rid. Cost me two to three hours to find in forums the right tweaks to just having a hard drive without the unwanted extra features.
