Hand in hand through wonderful Mana-country ...

Back in the village (Why the road was actually there at once full of monsters?) You will but then returned quickly to the bottom of the facts. Nix with his hero - rather it is at once the Avoided, the new village Depp. Since it does nothing that you swiftly a huge praying mantis sells, the rum hangs out there, to have to look no because what. The fact is, is a quickly made clear: The sword was in the stone. Point. And it itself is apparently responsible for the fact that all the monsters showed up. So will, Ganzendorf-collegial, counseled. Result: You have gone. And fast. After all, just has a strange traveler there lost and gives a clue: Come to the Water Temple!
So go ahead - get out of the village (which was anyway not particularly exciting) and into a very huge adventure: Secret of Mana.

Granted, my introduction has become a bit long for such a small part. But: who has played the game back then, perhaps can still remember how suddenly stood in front of the village guards and wanted back inside and was not allowed. And how is then gone off somewhat defiantly - on in the world. Therefore: the introduction to the game has succeeded - and the further course also.

Whether by nasty witches woods and -Castles, deserts, enchanted mountains and caves, ice or fire temple ... so all the scenarios that desires the heart adventurers, offers the world. This one moves freely; later but you do get the opportunity to use their own kite (* klingelingeling *) or the Cannon Travel Agents (* long live the comfort *) to take certain shortcuts, so you do not have to travel all the way on foot through the rather large world. In between, there are countless treasure chests and monsters species (including incredibly many bosses) and weapons, pieces of armor and spells and -geister and nice people and not so nice people, towns and dungeons, funny and stupid dialogues ... and not forgetting two loyal and - in the truest sense of the word - magical companions. Once a girl who ran away from home to find his fiance (it can healing spells) and an amnesiac Koboldin which not only has its very own goblin humor, but can also speak powerful offensive spells.

The possibilities are really handsome. You can pick and choose whom of the three you like to play, which is constantly changeable, to the menu and attack commands can be always called the other. For that time, almost revolutionary: you can also play the three of the game! There are tons of spells and massive weapons (8 different types that you can convert at the forge), many objects, and especially: a lot of armor. Weapons and spells can level up and then have different attacks. Pro opponents there are gold coins - so you can also buy everything nice.

For this, the loving, sometimes funny, sometimes sad story is still accompanied by a wonderful music, so that one of the Secret of Mana (? And today) is really best at that game. Quite wonderful and definitely a huge chest of nostalgia.

Criticisms? The companion (s) remain now and then hanging, so you only need a little foxes to get ahead. Then the boss - they are very numerous and different, the relationship between magic and ordinary weapons is not very balanced. Ie: the magic is too strong or the boss too difficult when trying to defeat them without magic (which is, however, nice and challenging if you do not play the game for the first time). That's a bit of a shame, because they have so little to do with tactics, but rather: eeeeewig level up magic and then blunt flatten the bosses.

Otherwise, Secret of Mana is really a game in which there is so pure suspend nothing at all!
