The software of the app is the greatest waste. If you were to forgo making the thing idiot-proof
want to, nobody knows what's running in the background and to allow for proper network configuration that would work everything. My part is now running at 75% as I wanted. External access via LTE goes, accessible by mobile phone in the same Wi-Fi in the 2.4 GHz Access Point, as I needed actually, does not go. And VPN can also forget.
The installation of the part to the function / troubleshooting took me 5 hours, because nothing has worked regularly.
EDIT 03/15/2015:
After 2 days, I found the (grand) solution for me what only concerns alone the switch.
Problem seems to be in my case, the router wifi dual band. Because the access point admitted times outside
does not make it any directly only on the router.
My solution now works perfectly (only switch):
1) Through a firmware update torment with the original app from wemo up to date
2.) Install the app "WeMoHome" of MikeP from PlayStore
3.) via the router switches to a fixed IP address assigned
Select 4.) In the "WeMoHome" app manual configuration and assign the IP address of the switch.
Now can the switch across the home network switch and also from anywhere in the world via VPN.
Advantage of this solution:
1) Regardless of the Belkin cloud service
2.) do not delay more when switching over Wifi / UMTS / LTE, making it immediately when you press "click".
3.) The "WeMoHome" app has a one click widget. Just press a button. Light on, button will turn green and vice versa.
No wait to open an app. The widget button is with me on the main page of the mobile phone. Press to finish.
4. off) Remote control from Belkin, make no more security risks that the home network from outside attack.
5.) Never go looking for another app that from time to time the equipment
6) In case of emergency the original wemo app still works in parallel. (Software update etc ..)
Where can I send the bill for 2 days start-up and optimization work?
What I currently gray hair is still preparing the wemo motion switch.
The fails permanently on probably the time being the latest software update.
I am in a sort of loop. It works sometimes
for a time, then he wants to update and nothing works.
Do not know if that has not not a hardware failure.
It's just to run away.
