As mentioned in previous reviews, the housing is made of aluminum. This makes for an extremely high-quality appearance and is absolutely not self-evident. The competition offers here mostly plastic.
But the first shock was not long in coming. The connecting cable of the camera is firmly connected to this. Consequently, when mounted by a wall, a correspondingly large hole diameter must be selected. This is due to the LAN jack whopping 21 mm - but I did not want to drill through reinforced concrete with this diameter, the following plan was: cut cable and crimp indoors on a network socket. Due to an error I certainly can not tell which wire to which pin belongs into the socket. -> Support written.
Here is a small wiring diagram which I have received from the Support. (No warranty of any kind !!):
1 Orange
2 Yellow
3 Green
6 Blue
5 Purple
4 Gray
7 Brown
8 White
This then also finally the LAN connection works.

And then immediately to the next problem: The integrated firmware - This is an absolute impudence. Buttons that do not work, Russian error messages, a recording schedule for the NAS server can not save itself etc.pp.
After an extensive internet research I found out the following. TRENDnet cameras are sold under different model names and brandings even with HIKVISION. So I wanted the model in the database, download the firmware and recorded at random. -> Tadaaaa, the camera is now running with the HIKVISION firmware.
Paradoxically, all settings were even taken firmware from TRENDnet - only I had followed a more appealing web interface, better translation, more features and fewer bugs.
Only one downer remained: Even with the new firmware, it can not be recorded via NFS on a NAS (in my case a D-Link ShareCenter). According to various English-speaking forums this is a known firmware problem.
NOTE: This is a personal EXPERIENCE. MODIFICATIONS TO SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE CAN CAUSE LOSS OF WARRANTY OR OTHER TECHNICAL DEFECT DAMAGE. All information without guarantee for correctness.

The upshot ....

... Is that I have but now bought a Synology DiskStation. The integrated Surveillance Station done first-class work. (Again, there were in the formatting of the HDD some war Synology refused rigorously to format the new hard disk -..> Back to PC-dealer I trust this has formatted the hard drive to a PC then the plate was after several attempts. last format in the Synology.)
So if a camera that finally provides good images and an attractive design for little money, looking exactly right here.
But who is looking for a once functioning and comfortable solution and also not want to spend four days of his life with desperate programming attempts, should rather resort to a more expensive solution.
