Here you do not have the board, as in the normal Ubongo. But otherwise everything is almost as usual.
Game History:
The gemstones come in a bag. From 9 brown and 9 blue gems now be picked out and designed so that two rows of 9 identical colored gemstones ausliegen among themselves. The players then decide together whether they want to play with the simpler or the heavier side and sort of laying boards after the animal symbols thereon, so that a total of 9x4 panels for inspection. (With only 2 or 3 players, the superfluous cards per symbol back in the box come) The fixing parts 40 come in the middle of the table and the game can begin.
Each round runs from equal: All players take a stack of each 1 table. Each player puts it, is played with the site on the open in front of him. Here all players must have tables with the same animal symbol. A player rolls. The players look then to where the number is on their board Lege and take the corresponding stones. If you play the simple variant, the three, in the difficult variant four blocks per player. Has any player done, then the hourglass is turned over and each player now tries to incorporate as the stones in the prescribed form, that all fields are covered and a smooth, 2-floor area is created.
Make it a player, completely fill in its application surface, he calls out "Ubongo". He must now take a blue gems from the display and put in front of him. If the second player finished, he may draw a bernsteinfarbenenen gem from the display. The first two players may be drawn an additional gem out of the bag as a reward as well. Players who finish after the second player to receive only a gem out of the bag.
The round ends as soon as the hourglass is once gone through. Who is not finished yet, may now no longer continue building. All lay stones come back to the middle of the table, the players take back new lay panels and the next round can begin. If, however, has no player "Ubongo" launched after the first hourglass, the hourglass is now even flipped a second time. The round ends become final following the second hourglass has run through.
The game ends when a total of 9 rounds have been played. The players now count the total value of their gems together: Red gems include 4 points, 3 blue, green and amber 2 1 victory point. The player with the highest total number of victory points wins the game. In a tie, the players involved play another round. Who can solve the task first, wins the game.
Yes, what we say, then, about this?
It's super hard to despair and. During our 9 year old daughter now has become quite well during normal Ubongo, we are here all failed at this game.
While the hourglass is running apparently a little longer (as it came to us at least before), but it is almost impossible to do it within the time. I've done it in the first few games 1x 2x and my husband very scarce. Here we had but each relatively simple stones that remained in a plane, so it was to penetrate quickly. So we need almost always the 2nd chance round and even then it has hardly anyone ever managed. I have it get out 2x after the 2nd round, while the others have looked at the answer sheet.
Honestly ... without this solution sheet you were in a fix.
I have to say that the light side with 3 stones was not a big challenge for us adults, so we have always taken the heavy side and my daughter at first the light, now also plays the heavy side.
Here also no one has an advantage, it is equally difficult for adults and children. For children, there's just more frustrating than for adults. I had usually a Knubel too much or too little, or the stupid thing was reversed. My husband wanted to go out to get a saw. And our daughter was so unnerved after 2-3 cards that anyway there was nothing right.
We never fully played in the first game Try all the cards because us after half real fun is gone. Even now, we never play all the cards because we get every time a headache. The solutions you can not remember ... we often get the same cards and can not make it anyway to.
The normal Ubongo version is clearly better and also makes a lot of fun. And most importantly, it is absolutely easy to Ubongo 3D ... almost too easy * g *
From us, there's only 2 stars because Ubongo 3D is really difficult and unfortunately only causes frustration and after several attempts absolutely pays no fun.
