Now I found after a long search on Technisat. To make it short: I am thrilled.
Ordered, delivered super fast (thanks to the service of Amazon), unpacked, connected and already the amazement begins:
1. Good delivery (incl. HDMI cable, which makes a high quality impression)
2. Remote control with a reasonable pressure point (the biggest shortcoming in the oversized variety of cheap SAT receivers) and good classification for everyday use.
3. The receiver has the same dimensions as its predecessor, but acts through the chrome hub at the front a lot of high quality and also the buttons are clearly better processed.
4. Connections as for a typical receiver (HDMI, USB, Ethernet, jack, antenna input ... just to mention the most important).
After connecting, the first power-up: The menu looks graphically "sharper" (the resolution is much higher than the "playing fields" on the Skymaster, which reminded me of a Gameboy graphics Setting designed to be very, very easy. The menu navigation is clear and understandable DC when installing your device has found a new firmware and immediately installed -. class of Skymaster has since strictly refused, when it came to an update via satellite..
The standard OSD, which will appear after switching from one station to another, clearly shows all the important information that interest me. Among other things, whether the transmitter the sound signal broadcasting in Dolby Digital and even if in 2.0 or 5.1, is the aspect ratio, the film progress in the form of a yellow bar, the name of the current program and pressing the Info button once the content of the current program (the information the built-in SFI - also known as EPG - to picformat).
The SFI is clearly structured and easy to understand and easy to operate after a short in the "sleep". An update of the data is carried out at the request just after switching off the mains or even night in standby.
Shots are easily programmed (external hard drive required) on request with pre- and post-time (applies to all recordings). The thus recorded more minutes make sure that you have taken the whole movie, and can be easily cut out the menu later. This saves space on the hard disk, making the abschauen the movies more enjoyable if you take the time to cut out the advertising.
The cutting of the films goes slightly out of hand, only the waiting time while cutting you could still improve. However, I do not rule out that it is up to my external drive (Buffalo Station 1 TB). All hard drives I tested were recognized without exception and could be easily used for recording.
The normal time from sleep takes a little time to complete, but may be accelerated if desired by setting "Quick Start" so that the receiver practically immediately after power immediately shows the image and can be used. However, by the standby power consumption is increased. In my opinion, an interesting feature, but since my LCD anyway requires a short warm-up time, I can easily do without it.
The menu for the recordings is very tidy and identifies key information for inclusion. About the SFI be when taking the title and description of the film with the same stored and can be accessed during playback, as if the film just run - class. The Skymaster has taken no title, so you always had to rename the recordings directly, otherwise you had to guess by.
Other small feature when cutting the shots struck me after the fact, but help immensely. Let yourself be surprised ...
The switching times I personally find very comfortable and last for HD channels the same length as for SD channels. This was not the case with Skymaster. A liquid zapping is possible without any problems.
Now for the drawbacks:
When recording a program as are pretty much all the features of the Technisat "offline". Besides searching the program guide SFI and the direct viewing of the program (either live or delayed - Timeshift) goes nothing. On the Skymaster could at least look even when shooting the remaining channels of the transponder or play while recording, records. That can not be here. Will you abschauen an already recorded movie, remains a just decision to quit recording and can not indeed be the intention. So you're confined to a one transmitter and have to wait until the show is over.
(The problem I solved with the built-in my Samsung LCD DVB-T tuner - this is used during the recordings as "evasive Receivers").
Furthermore, you can play files from the PC (with corresponding dongle) with the software of Technisat via DLNA via WLAN. However, the whole thing has not been fully thought through: Because the receiver is used with an external hard drive as a recorder, the USB port is blocked and can not be extended by a hub. How is one to use a Wi-Fi and an external HDD at the same time ?? Not everyone has a CAT cable in the living room. Technisat - please make improvements!
Conclusion:
The Technisat S1 is one of the best satellite receiver that I've ever had. He is perfectly processed, the menus are well thought out (and look very appealing on a 40 "LCD), the operation is intuitive and the interface function of the recordings I do not want to miss.
Quality made in Germany, it shows.
Hence my recommendation: Buy!
