The Crest (Audio CD)

Customer Review

After 2 - 3 to hear I'm still very torn when it comes to assessing the overall CD.

ARP has "The Crest" announced as his masterpiece, and since it is my opinion of miles away. It starts with the intro - as almost always quite boring without idea and joke - probably be but an intro must, even if he got along without something earlier. Against "To Late" (a very shallow opener), "Devil Zone" and the catchy "Prisoner of Love" is really nothing wrong, such pieces are found on all ARP Silberlingen, but that was it for now with the glory " Dreaming Dead "is a musical rehash of" Land of the Giant "/" Casba "Even the chorus of Land of the Giant fits Dreaming Dead like chalk and cheese, well maybe one wants to live instead of Masquered Ball / Casba soon Country of the Giant / Dreaming Dead play; o). Although "" Glory Night "and" Burning Rain "go into your ear but are not real blast (could halt on any Silberling ARP somewhere on it." Dark Waves ... "is initially a very good sequel, but then get bored because no major follow Solos or no musical surprises. "Noblesse Oblige" is probably the most boring instrumental piece I ever heard by the master of the strings, a real pen / placeholder. That leaves "The End of Our Time" well also here you can say nice, but no masterpiece

Sorry Axel, but if that is the masterpiece, I am very disappointed. For me the usual ARP Silberling the one currently a little more often heard, but then one places him behind a row of class ARP discs.
