Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (Audio CD)

Customer Review

With "Star Wars - Episode I," it comes after 16 years finally continue with the greatest film of all time spectacle. But actually this is indeed the beginning of "Star Wars". And so Williams begins his musical masterpiece. And to do justice to the thing he used not only the old and beautiful themes, but created a myriad of new themes!

At first, the CD with the famous "Star Wars Main Title And The Arrival At Naboo" and immediately you're back in the world of the Jedi begins. Here also the theme for Naboo is presented, a great composition in which one must immediately think of the panoramic landscape in the film.
Immediately afterwards, the highlight of the soundtrack "Duel of the Fates" begins. The largest renovation of scores in recent years become one of the most popular themes of "Star Wars", due to the majestic sound of the choir and the orchestra. An incredible piece which should sound a bit new to many older fans, but will fully unfold, certainly influences its effect. Incredibly exciting and not to exceed in elegance and expression! The next track is the complete opposite: "AnakinŽs Theme" is a typical and beautiful melody that perfectly describes Anakin's character and suggesting even with some dark sounds (bonds for "Imperial March") end up on the fate of the boy. Very awesome!
There are of course a lot more to discover: Episode I is a STAR WARS movie kept very colorful and childlike and so presents itself the score. In "Jar JarŽs Introduction ..." we hear the witty introduction of Jar Jar Binks. But Williams would not Williams if he would not go back with trump dramatic and beautiful passages. In the same piece we hear, for example, again the great chorus that accompanied the underwater world of Otoh Gunga unbelievably perfect!
Then we have the great music to "The Flag Parade". A atembraubendes piece that sounds like the opening of the Olympic Games, only much more serious and better. In addition, there is a beautiful choral singing in "The High Council Meeting And Qui GonŽs Funeral", which we will encounter again in Episode III. And the last track we have the appearance of a great parade music that overflows in the End Titles.
But action there again in full measure. For example, the disturbing and great "The Sith Spacecraft And The Droid Battle" or "Panaka And The Queens Protectors" the music turns into a kind of heroic hero theme. And "The Droid Invasion" is simply bombastic, because it's not only something reminiscent of the "Imperial March" but alludes also the melody of the Emperor.
And there is much more to discover in this truly multi-faceted and beautiful soundtrack. The only shortcoming is that the pieces are not arranged chronologically. The compositions are stunningly beautiful, but I hear scores like the way they appear in the film. But there is the "Ultimate Edition", which contains the complete and chronologically arranged score. Although still missing half of the music, but I can assure you that the best pieces are all to be found here!

Williams score for "Episode I" is one of the most distinctive in the entire saga. Fans of STAR WARS are not tuned here not come and fans of high-perfect film music anyway. A stunning soundtrack, which initiates the beginning of the Star Saga. Let us take you into a far distant galaxy ...
