Internal drives can thus be used as external drives, also can read the disks of defective Notebooks - assuming that the same is not defective.
As usual with USB, you have to install any drivers itself.
I have tested the speed with about 6 month old notebook as well as a SSD in the adapter. The data rates are as I expected: the 250 MB / s SSD -> Notebook (limited by the hard drive in the notebook). Conversely, from the working memory (RAM Drive) on the SSD: approximately 390 MB / s. These values are likely to be higher at a better SSD, my is an entry-level model.
If you have an older device without USB 3.0, the speed is obviously slow, but it works without any problems.

If you have an older device, these are of course reduced to the speed of USB 2.0.
The housing is fast, convenient and looks on the desk good. LEDs indicate whether the device is on or is working.
I recommend the hard drive cage further clear and give all the stars.
