What I have read in the reviews about "Shadow of the Colossus" partly annoys me right! I have "Shadow of the Colossus" finished for the first time yesterday and want to hereinafter describe my impressions and to respond to some things from the previous reviews. First I want to mention the music. The former is just beautiful and creates a very dense atmosphere and accompanied the cinematic staging of the story. I really hope that there will be a soundtrack. The graphics are not the best of what you might see on a PS2, maybe I'm too spoiled by the Xbox360, but it is still very nice and has its own unique charm. From any "fog effects" I did not notice anything. With the playing time it's like in other games: Who runs by quickly, is ready quickly With SotC however, there is much to see and so much to discover, also next to the fighting (!). The landscape is huge and varied, from deep canyons through endless steppes and lakes to massive mountains. Everything is somehow a little bit bigger and you should take the time to simply enjoy the look. I myself had ultimately about 15h on the counter, which I think is passable. Among the opponents: from gentle giants one can hardly speak well. The Titans are aggressors and attack at the first sight. Each opponent requires its own tactics, where you have to interact in different ways with the environment. Each colossus represents a kind of enigma, and the battles are simple cinematic and dramatic, and the best will not monotonous! Moreover, defeating the enemy is very tragic staged with precisely this tragedy is an important stylistic element of the story (again the outstanding music plays an important role). Control and camera are a bit strange, but if you work a little bit with it, you can also catch here cinematic situations. A perfect control there is not just. The best thing about SotC is the atmosphere that music, originality and presentation. For ages no longer a game I was so captivated. SotC despite some minor drawbacks something most games lack, and what is more important than, for example, the graphics: character, flair, "Feeling", whatever you want to call it, it pulls one into its spell and really makes a lot of fun , Personally, I am again switched only because of this game from the Xbox 360 to the PS2 and I have to say, of the next-gen games got me yet none so excited and carried away ...
