It's the details that you can read on various photo sites, I will not go, because this camera certainly is not for amateurs who produce images only in automatic mode. It would be futile to go into the IQ in detail, because there was so much to say about it. Therefore, a few points that you might can not read anywhere: 1. The camera does have a very well-functioning auto mode but it is only really useful if you use the many manual settings and especially know what you're doing. So not really suitable for occasional clippers. 2. The build quality is top notch, everything seems to be perfect, but the camera great is larger than, for example, the compact P & S RX100. The RX1 is not a pocket camera, it is quite large. 3. The built-in flash is quite useful and gives remarkably good results. 4. The autofocus works quickly and accurately, even in the dark (despite conflicting reports) and is suitable when properly adjusted, also for snapshots. 5. The picture quality at extremely high ISO values is first class, black remains black, the noise keeps very limited.
I use the RX1 as a camera for dark environments, such as nightly street moods, restaurants, etc. and the NEX6 with SEL18-200 zoom for photos in good light. However, I love the RX1, when it comes to landscapes or portraits, the picture quality is top-notch. The prices for the accessories are steep, just over EUR 200 for the leather case (which, incidentally, can not store the RX1 with attached electronic viewfinder) and EUR 450 for the electronic viewfinder, which are words. However, the quality of both parts is top notch.
Finally, the RX1 is a luxury object that can but produce fantastic photos. The absence of an interchangeable lens is not a flaw but a feature. ;-)
