This razor makes unmanly. He makes the facial skin of a chastened man with lush beard as smooth as a Mädchenpopo. My old Philishave Speed-XL was not so mercilessly: The Philishave Although I have used more than twice the time for a shave, but he was - like all Philishaves - always be a masculine touch of stubble. And he was even quieter than the Panasonic ES-LT31 or he is yet, because I generally only charging the battery when all else fails, and the Philishave was only second razor, he shaved by now almost five years more yet. But he just needs to be markedly more time for a worse result.
Main razor was in recent years an ancestor of reviewed here Panasonic ES-LT31, the Panasonic ES8017, one of the first razor with a linear motor, which now, after many years with the first blade block and the first shear grid (!) Still significantly faster than the Philishave and is still shaved thoroughly. The battery shaved by one week, but the engine has become louder. In other words, the daily shaving was now a nuisance, since I had only the choice between loud and thoroughly (Panasonic) and quiet, long and lousy (Philishave).
And so I bought the best razor that there are, just the reviewed here Panasonic ES-LT31. The best? Granted, it's a question of weighting: There are even faster razor (the Panasonic with 4 cutter heads), there are quieter shaver (Philishave), there are cheaper and there are nicer razor razor (a matter of taste). There are the ES-LT31 in a version with cleaning station, the ES-LT71. The superfluous because one the ES-LT31 easily with soap can rinse under hot water. Cleaning is therefore done in fractions of minutes.
The Panasonic ES-LT31 shaved as thoroughly and quickly as a good razor. Razors are superior to most e-shavers in speed and thoroughness. But not every skin withstand wet shaving and the wet shave is also significantly more expensive. Over time, falling in the wet shave at cost, for which one can buy the most expensive dry shaver. So do not look here's money but simply take the best! So take a top model of Philishave when it quietly, chic but not to be especially thorough, or the Panasonic ES-LT31 when it must in the morning be a bit noisy, but it should be like a wet shave as quickly and thoroughly. Or take anything else. Shaving they all do. The differences are only in the thoroughness, the time required and the difficulties caused by shaving skin irritations that are the Panasonic ES-LT31 on my skin which does not tolerate wet shaving, from scratch.
The advertised "electric wet shave" I once tested, but it is compared to the dry shaving in this model (as with Philishave) unsatisfactory. Logically, if one considers that the hair is supposed to slip into the holes of the grid shear, making what soaped and thus soft whiskers of course not as good, which is why it is indeed Preshaves that will raise the hairs. You do not need the Panasonic ES-LT31 incidentally.
In contrast to the top models of Brown there are the ES-LT31 a travel Scherblatt coverage included. This is necessary because as a travel bag with a soft velor is only included. The bag, which are delivered with the Philishaves, are somewhat high.
Criticism:
The shear grille of ES-LT31 are convex. As more convex exist on the face and neck as concave curvatures, which is at least theoretically a disadvantage because of the pressure in the center is higher than the edge - in practice are the flesh but according to the shear and nestles grid. I can only guess that the ES-LT31 would be even more effective with a straight shear grid. At least this curvature is superfluous.
That one with empty battery with connecting cables can not shave, is silly. This is probably due to the US market, where high damages lawsuits from people who with connecting cables attached wet shaving in the shower trying (or say that they did that) threatening. In practice, however, this is no problem, because after just five minutes of charging time ES-LT31 shaved finally has finished. Who wants to be sure, is charging when the indicator drops to 20%, then it is not guaranteed because without electricity.
The Power On (for travel) is somewhat smoothly. It happened to me a few times that I have pressed him shaving, then fails to switch off the shaver, without turning back the Power On. But that's harmless and to mention it, is already nitpicking.

If you need more information, you can also read the reviews of the ES-LT71. The ES-LT71 is identical. Differences are the controversial cleaning station and the finish. The ES-LT71 is made of smooth silver plastic, the ES-LT31 comes with a front in textured black carbon look, which makes it not only prettier, but also grip.
