It was clear even during the film that I have to buy me the soundtrack. This is not often because I usually like only a couple of songs and I could not convince the rest. But the songs in "Dreamgirls" are just lovely and make a wonderful tribute to the "Supremes" is.
Beyoncé has a great voice that is beyond question, but me personally Jennifer Hudson has all the more convincing. She has earned the Oscar for best supporting actress in good faith. Her voice has that little something that has an absolute recognition.
The songs on the album are mostly very fast, groovy, peppy and have this feel-good effect that one in some songs in vain examined today, such as "Stepping on the bad side", "Move" or "I love you I do". Some songs like "Listen" by Beyonce or "And I am Telling You, I'm Not Going" on the other hand are very melancholic. So it is for almost every taste. Hence this grandiose soundtrack gets me full 5 stars.
