Interesting album with high highs and low lows.

Unsung Heroes had the thankless task of the brilliant album ,, Victory Songs' and the very good album ,, From Afar 'to beat'. I was very happy to Unsung Heroes and as I put into the player and play ,, '' expressed, I went to a little more than an hour lasting voyage to the new world of Ensiferum. The first time through I was a bit perplexed. Was that really all? How it but now times with new albums is so, they need a certain Einhörungsphase, until you realize the potential of each song. After repeated listening by now I feel able to express statments:

What a surprise: A purely instrumental intro. However, the tape is relatively short stops here with 1:51 minutes on it. ,, By The Dividing Stream '' (From Afar) and ,, Ad Victoriam '' (Victory Songs) were there much longer. But that does not at all and that it is bad, on the contrary: The handset is beautifully attuned, one feels transported back to the old days of the Vikings and a medieval atmosphere is produced: Very nice to listen. 5 points.

In My Sword I Trust: Who now has a Speed-Up number à La From Afar or Blood Is The Price Of Glory expected is here ,, disappointed '' However, convinced Ensiferum genius with a penetrating instrument guidance, catchy verses and a in my opinion Refrain. It is sung by the chorus, the forced Prakisch ,, In My Sword I Trust 'with singing'. Just great. The in between eintretenen guitar solos totally convincing !! Great song, for me one of the best songs of Ensiferum. 5 points!

Unsung Heroes: The song is a little with ,, Heathen throne 'to compare the speed and the melody'. It's quite nice to listen, but I do not have because of this ,, Whoa-Geil '' effect. Since this is the title song of the album, I would have liked more eye-opening effects here. 3 points

Burning Leaves: Well this is Ensiferum in the traditional manner. Very good intro, beautiful verse, again a sing-along chorus moving, super guitar solo towards the end of the song. All-round success. 4.5 points.

Celestial Bound: To date, the woman force of the band was used super (Siehen the Bridge after the first chorus of Twilight Tavern!) Here, however, I must say that I am disappointed with the song. Ensiferum is here took a huge gamble, but in my opinion this should be the last feminine guided Song. The song comes to me from a pure ear, out the other out again, leaving no impression. 2 Points.

Retribution Shall Be Mine: Jaaawohl! So I love Ensiferum. Fast, dynamic, aggressive and insistent in verse and instrument guide! Has for me which of ,, Elusive Reaches ''. Top top! 5 points.

Star Queen: Unlike Celestial Bound me this pseudo acoustic song was liked very much. Especially the changes between quiet and loud ,, '' passages give the song something special! Very well done. 4 points.

Pohjola: Great song! Since everything is right! When the chorus begins sat with me a shiver. The song brings in a a certain optimism. Even the between entering Chanting fits perfectly and gives the song this such a unique touch! 5 points !!

Last Breath: Another acoustic song: for me more a stopgap. Too bad, the song did not convince me. 2 Points.

Passion, Proof, Power: 17 minutes. Courageous! There are passages that are good, but a few are totally out of place (this German-language scenario in the village or wherever). I am doing in general difficult with such a marathon numbers. But Victory Song and The Longest Journey, however, were able to convince me, unfortunately not. 2 Points.

Bomboleo: na hola !!! As Ensiferum but again an unpacked. Strong point, namely the something fierce growl is a bit strange in the verses, but the chorus's back skin out. Cool number, really aggressive up. 4,75 points.

To summarize: 5 - 5 - 3 to 4.5 - 2-5 - 4 - 5 - 2 - 2 to 4.75 = 42.25 points divided by 11 songs makes 3.84 points, just under 4 points and 4 star.

Ensiferum has dared with this album a few experiments: It was more set on the Akustic and it was kriiert with Passion Proof Power believers I longest number. The experiments proved successful as a rather poor to me. My wish for the future, which resumes the style of Ensiferum Victory songs, some instrumental elements of Unsung Heroes and From Afar with adds and the present is a great album again in the years to come !!
