All you knew that only if one so an air conditioner has only once. So we googled us for a solution, the fingers to the bone. Found we have the (the?) Airlock - thankfully! This "plane" that is attached by velcro at the window. In the middle is a zip. The one opens so that the exhaust hose through fits. And even the open window is tight while the exhaust hose leads to the outside. Heat stays outside, critters stay out, stay out pollen. Good thing. The material of AirLock is also water repellent. So a slight shiver does not matter. When it pours badly, our air conditioning unit is anyway not in operation (fresh summer rain air because I love a thousand times better than air conditioners air), so I can not tell if the would be AirLock really tight then.
But what I can say: We also saves power. So an air conditioner is in fact despite tollster Energy efficiency class A power-hungry. Although we have one that turns off when the desired room temperature is reached - but if constantly warm air poured in from outside, the thing never switched off yes. Now it turns off and the room has a pleasant constant temperature.
What I also find handy: If you leave the house, you can simply remove the exhaust hose and close the window without having to remove the Airlock.
Sure, that's no massive construction and probably not for a lifetime. But it has also its advantages and for someone who only prepares his air conditioner when it's really hot, it's super. We are now in the second year "in operation". And for the price has all worthwhile!
Therefore: 5 stars.
