Customer Review

Those who expect a rock album from Dire Straits- times, is "on the wrong track". Mark Knopfler has long been broken up to new horizons. Uncompromisingly he goes to work, the opener z. B. is a waltz, the times one imitate him. He is not about the "great effort" but the unity of music and word. You really have to make the effort and try to decipher the texts must remain with the non-Englishman hidden many a word game ("I found myself a flophouse .... I like to go for broke ... He had the punchlines "). Also the photos say something about the content of the songs.
"Tracker" expanded my horizon: The songs are so intense that I wanted to know more about Basil Bunting and Beryl Bainbridge. Taormina is such a beautiful song that I had to let me know right away where this dream place is.
He who has ears for a quiet, soothing, emotional, soulful music should purchase the album. He will not find it boring! For the rest:. Songs such as "Beryl", a poet who has broken smoked themselves, are not suitable for "Rock out"! I agree Richard Ford in the liner notes to: As no note is out of place. What you hear on TRACKER, music and poetry is pure!
By the way: Also receiving technically the album is top notch!
