Customer Review

This album convinces across the board.
The compositions are all involved (except Blossom) perfect with a hint pop, that is very friendly handset. Keith Jarrett's warm, joyful melodies come here brilliantly to the fore, and since all songs written by him, he can fully develop at the piano both as a companion and as a soloist. The remaining quartet members, Jan Garbarek on tenor, Palle Dannielsson on bass and Jon Christensen on drums deliver all from feats. Christensen always finds neither intrusive nor too weak, always dynamic rhythm, he uses his instrument admirably. Daniellsson support and is also capable of acting as individuals to contribute to the music, so the perfect bassist. Now to Garbarek: tenor saxophonist Its operation is so wonderful, so unique he lyrisch.Auch has quite the ability to speak with his instrument, but drops the "figure of speech" in the eye. He does not play licks, but uses rather own expression, without resorting to pre-figures, by gentle modulations, long flow of the game to his sometimes roaring upper register voice (to which however he whimsical to own him noted here Ayler and Trane's heritage, way recycled.). Blossom is a long improvisation on Jarrett's theme, without drums, and therefore more fluent.
Jarrett plays and writes brilliantly, and the remaining musicians have a great talent that comes on this extraordinarily lyrical plate for supporting fully. Consider that Jarrett was located at the recording time Punk in a creative wedding, shortly thereafter, in 1975, even the incomparable Cologne concert was recorded. The humanity and warmth of the concert can be heard clearly even here in the first quartet recording.
