Customer Review

In an interview Jimmy Page said that "Presence" is his personal favorite of all Zeppelin albums. No wonder - just as Björn Döring points out, the man worked beaten 18 hours a day and the band had available to record the disc just three weeks.
And in spite of this lack of time has made a very strong album came out, but again, not reaped the best Krtiken. Well, therefore, because they had got used to stylistically varied albums of the English and then came up with "Presence" an album that contains only the same after the first hearing sounding songs and no keyboards and quite uncompromisingly relies on powerful rock.
I too had mainly because I only knew the other albums on the first run a little trouble finding, then realized, however, that Led Zeppelin are just unpredictable and the songs all class anyway, as the overarching epic "Achilles Last Stand" with its fantastic guitars that seem to come from everywhere, the excellent drumming of John Bonham and the galloping bass of John Paul Jones. The second song "For Your Life" builds up great and is always dramatic. "Nobody's Fault But Mine" is characterized by the tension breaks, varied drumming from Bonham and an excellent harmonica solo by Plant and "Tea For One" sounds kind of solitude.
However, the album sounds quite melancholic and moody (only "Royal Orleans" and "Hots On For Nowhere" hear something cheerful to), which is another fundamental difference to the previous albums, and not surprising, since the band members big trouble the time had. This is also reflected in the texts in which it comes to drugs and groupies, etc. ("For Your Life") and not escapism or hippies.
When one is "through increased" through the songs, can also be seen that "Presence" from the context of the song as round as any of the other of the Zeppelin albums.
In any case, another masterpiece of the great rock band Led Zeppelin, which manages without keyboards, as Jones and Bonham as always deliver an exciting, creative rhythm section and Jimmy Page playing his perhaps best guitar solos ever. - And Robert Plant's vocal performance need not say much, it is as always first class; moreover, considering that he had to perform the vocals recordings of "Presence" in a sitting position, as he had been injured in an accident.
