Starting with "In the Evening", the CD starts quite furious, although I would have this piece is not placed at the beginning of the disc. With "Southbound Saurez" it goes on very groovy. Also with the best piece of the disc "Fool in the Rain". This is well-known mainly because of its half-time shuffle groove. John Bonham on drums here proves once again his exceptional talent among rock drummers. The play itself is probably one of the most experimental of Led Zeppelin, with its samba beat in the middle part. The number "Hot Dog" on the other hand is a typical piece of Led Zeppelin, with strong country influence. It starts with a usual strong Jimmy Page riff. John Paul plays to a great bar piano. "Carouselambra" is for me the weakest piece of the disc, also due to the length of 10:34 minutes. So far I was able to not be really warm. "All my love" is a ballad about Robert Plant's deceased son. It was written by John Paul Jones and Robert Plant. The end of the disc makes "I'm Gonna Crawl". This is definitely one of the best ballads of Led Zeppelin, one of the most beautiful guitar solos that Jimmy Page has ever played in the studio. A very successful completion of the CD!
When negative, there is to say that Jimmy Page played due to the aforementioned drugs partly quite dirty guitar and Robert Plant and the odd crooked tone here is. However, that does not detract from the overall work.
Here you have a lot of pieces of the disc can listen live ever since just one year died after publication of drummer John Bonham. This disc shows Bonzo in top form and very experimental. Regarding his drumming definitely a worthy farewell!
Jimmy Page and John Bonham would again produce on this disc as a follow-up album a strong rock record because of the low "Rock" stake. Unfortunately, it has never come to the reasons stated above!
