Katy plays it safe ...

With "Teenage Dream" Katy Perry has presented an album in the summer of 2010 that it had become one of the most successful singers of the last few years. Numerous awards and gold and platinum awards, with several impressive records and all the eight (!) Worldwide success singles represent the balance sheet for the last album. On her "California Dreams" tour I was able Katy also live experience in Munich and was by her vocal performance positively surprised (the Background playback is of course not to forget).
After all the success of the bar was high. And so I was extremely curious as to "Prism" the successor of "Teenage Dream" was announced.

Bought direct on publication and since then heard countless times, I would like to briefly give my opinion on the album here.
One thing first: a direct comparison of the two albums is "Prism" far behind its predecessor back, but can also be the current work show some good pop songs. My highlights are clearly the single "Unconditionally", an emotional ballad with beautiful lyrics and ohrwurmverdächtigem chorus, and "This is how we do", one driven by pounding beats number, the good mood after a few seconds and before by the Break the last chorus, in the Katy a few funny lines against calls their listeners, is very entertaining.
Of course, the first single from the album, "Roar" is a flawless pop song, but to me a little chart fit produces (but of course works: among others 1st place in the US and UK). Other songs that I like to hear are "International smile" and "legandary Lovers".
"Dark Horse" and "Birthday" (somewhat reminiscent of "Last Friday Night"), however, are only 'okay', during my unfortunately not satisfied "This Moment" and "Dark Horse". "Ghost" and "Love me" can be very good way to hear, but are probably only album filler. "Double Rainbow" and "By the grace of God" are again two beautiful ballads, which are already the hair's breadth of Kitsch border.

As I said, that's just my opinion on the album. Looks surely everyone differently. If the songs would not be sung by Katy, they would probably never get this attention, but they are probably all too common.
Katy is sure to "Prism" in number and dares no real experiments. Do they not, of course, where you would be as a listener of course always something new.

From me receive "Prism" strictly speaking 3.5 stars - here rounded up to four stars.

Hopefully Ms. Perry in the coming year goes on an extensive tour. Live is definitely only recommended her show an absolute experience and!
