With "Boogie Pimps" set the two oblique Blue birds from their third album on Voodoo Rhythm. In many ways, the new far their best disc. Never they sounded so compact and had so much drive. Contrary to my expectations, they come musically slimmed therefore - unlike in the previous plate there are no guests or additional instruments. What You See Is What You Get - two seemingly unincorporated musicians play loud, uncouth, but never dumb songs live to tape an Italian studios. No frills, no experiments, for a good shovel energy. That testifies to self-confidence and shows the fruits of ten years of band history. If the Pimps this had the aim to capture the freshness of their live shows on board, is the two in my opinion, really well done. Among the songs: two covers (including Howlin 'Wolf's You'll Be Mine) and twelve from his own pen. As usual a paaar very catchy riffs and witty and oblique lyrics. The band describes their style as Down Home Blues Garage. And this is for me a special attraction of the troops at all, garage noise here is a good dose of old school blues feeling in it. Abgefahren, class, buy recommendation!
