Now to my situation:
I have several PCs in use with Windows 7, all up to date and well equipped here. Crashes, freezing, extreme performance loss, unfortunately agenda with KIS. Known and hundredfold reported bugs are dragged from version to version and the support is quite helpless. Until you gotten through to a developer goes vieeeeeel time because sitting to my knowledge, mostly in Russia - so far away. On top of that I had five "false positives" in recent weeks - and with known and really widespread programs (Winamp, VLC, etc.). This can happen to anyone, but not always! The last few months of my KIS licenses I have therefore now gekloppt final in the bin and am now changed after thorough research to Norton Internet Security. Since then, everything was great, no problems, and a first-class performance, of which I could only dream of.
Conclusion: I can no longer recommend the product, unfortunately. CriticalFix 1, which was published recently, has not changed anything. New versions are also shot too quickly on the market in my opinion. Held annually ever earlier to bring out a new product line, one should perhaps rather publish every two years a new major version, which then but is really stable and mature it. The customer is acting here currently once again as a beta tester, but that seems now to be a very common problem - not only in the software industry. Especially with security software I can this approach however absolutely not tolerate. A Sichehrheitssuite must be in my eyes stable and mature. A security suite, which is unstable and possibly even crashes, which is quite often happened with me, that also opens logically all doors. The greed is here, in my view quite clearly laying the groundwork before, much to the detriment of quality. That's more than a shame because Kaspersky was in my eyes always a kind of institution in terms of combating malware. A star for the user forum and the free configurability of the software. From the usability ago Version 2011 is however a significant advance for the 2010 version, but that's probably a matter of taste.
I can not and will ultimately describe here only my impressions with other users, the product runs may be much better or even properly. My tip therefore: Tests previously, namely the full thirty days, because for me the theater was also only ever after a few days to get rid of. It was by the way do not care if Windows was just freshly installed, or have had a few months behind him. Certainly can not hurt even a glance at the above Kaspersky forum to get an overview.
Update 24/09/2010:
Even the recently published "Hotfix B" for the latest version of KIS (11.0.1.400; "CF1") brought no improvement in the delay problem with us. The fact remains, every two to three weeks to be reinstalled on our computers KIS, because they would otherwise no longer usable by the violent delays and increasing crashes, demonstrably caused by KIS.
This is now, however, fortunately final conclusion, because the last two hosts were now converted to Norton Internet Security 2011. Thus, the last 3-PC license of CIS with 102 days maturity flies to dung.
Kaspersky has also gambled with me the last credit. The recently abolished live chat with the support team, which through the virtual (!) Assistant "Lena" was replaced, confirms my above-mentioned presumption of profiteering again. After all, can be but by this great measure probably still a few bucks saved.
As a little annoying farewell gave us the law applicable prior to installing the security suite from another manufacturer Kaspersky Uninstall Tool "kavremover.exe" (of course, also most current version) for cleaning the system of HIS residues shot up two of our computers. Probably a vendetta for changer, but joking aside - that was damn annoying. Follow me: twice correctly zeitauwendige reinstalling Windows 7, but this time with Norton Internet Security 2011. Since then, all the best.
My final conclusion after five years KIS: Kaspersky? Never again - I am serving!
