+ Everything about Lara has changed somewhat. The face has been completely redesigned, the expression comes much stronger than they were out on the PS3, but the face looks a bit "unreal".
Lara's hair is no longer available from now as a dead piece of wood from the head. The new engine provides TressFX Lara's hair very realistic and dynamic. Individual strands move in the wind and the entire hair just looks much more natural. Well done!
The complete equipment has changed positively. For example, the radio no longer sticks like a millstone around Lara, this is now moving nicely animated to Lara's belt.
+ The resolution is now at native 1080p and 60 frames per second. The Xbox One creates a direct comparison only 30 frames per second.
+ With the higher resolution and a significantly improved texture sharpness is applied. The entire game, from beginning to end just seems much sharper and more beautiful to look at. Especially apparent in the increased visibility compared to the PS3 version.
+ For more reality is provided by the new lighting and particle effects. Thus, the player looks on closer inspection many small but nice details that were not seen before in the form. Meant are very nice wet effects eg on Lara's clothing and also very atmospheric lighting effects by Lara's torch in the dark caves.
The player is on the PS4 version graphics technology fully at its expense.
+ The new functions of the PS4 controllers be integrated. So it is possible to switch via speech recognition weapons or even to use the touch pad for navigating on the map.
+ Although there are no real new content, but Square Enix adds all DLCs (Downloadable content) which were published last year for the previous version added. This is by 6 additional cards for multiplayer mode, some multiplayer skins, one solo puzzles grave and a book with concept art.
+ - Full price for the same content from 2013 with improved graphics.
- Every now and then it comes down to the PS4 to short Miniruckler (fps drops), but this rarely occurs.
- The difficulty level has not been adjusted and is still too easy.
- There are no real new content
Overall my Definitive Edition like really good. Players who have already played the main game heavily weigh whether a new purchase is really worth. Substantive changes do not exist. For the graphic has been greatly improved and lets the player therefore more dive into Lara's world. For each who has not yet played the game on one of the previous console or on the PC the Definitive Edition is a must buy.
