Less Is More: An incredibly intimate unplugged session

After the first hearing I was a little disappointed by the Unplugged session, which was performed by Florence + The Machine. The voice of the singer and the instrumental accompaniment same shots on the two studio albums. Sometimes this impression remains still exist. The opening number ONLY IF FOR A NIGHT testifies that ultimately speaks only of the professionalism of the band and thus not really likely to be negatively afflicted.
Then it goes with DRUMMING SONG further that, viewed in retrospect, very different from the album version, and perhaps even to please even more in this version white. The instruments, soft guitars and strings (in the rest of the songs also have a dreamy harp and a driving bass hear from you, as befits the style of the band), only accentuate Florence Welch 'bell-like singing, the one in the church-like concert hall has incredibly intimate effect.

The MTV Unplugged concert radiates exactly this: personality. And although Florence Welch's voice threatened to break towards the end and they do not dare at the last sung hits DOG DAYS ARE OVER and SHAKE IT OUT, the high notes than just those to sing this concert recording can only be described as a complete success. The band hereby expresses her love for atmospheric pop out, which soundscapes full of melancholy, but also hope evokes. I would have liked to have heard the playful Electro-Pop numbers SPECTRUM and RABBIT HEART in this less-is-more-robe, but anyway ... It probably should not be so.

The sound breaks another blow for the purchase of this CD. Unlike, for example, the album Ceremonials by Florence + The Machine, the individual shots do not suffer from the Loudness Wars. The voice is always there and is never overshadowed by the instruments or by respectfully restrained reactions of the audience, resulting in no distortion and prevails a certain dynamic of soft and loud tones. Super, so I hear Pop prefer!
