Literally out of nowhere and completely surprisingly attacked me "Serious Black" with "As Daylight Breaks". Only zufälllig I got the song "High and Low" to hear and because who has burned me immediately in the ear canals, I was curious and I wanted to hear more from this band. So I simply want to suspect the album concerned and what can I say: ENDGEILES PART! That's really power metal at its best, I'm thrilled. The songs feature all through their catchy, great melodies, catchy choruses and varied arrangements. Fast, powerful pieces alternate with melodic midtempo numbers and soulful ballads. In "As Daylight Breaks" just right the mix, you realize that these guys know what they are doing. If one takes a look at the line-up also a clear why, in "Serious Black" have been consistently "old hands" at the start. The protagonists of this album were already active in bands like Helloween, Blind Guardian, Master Plan, Eden Bride or Visions of Atlantis and then explains the musical proximity to those mentioned. Especially frontman Urban Breed (Tad Morose and ex-Bloodbound) does a really good job. Whether ballads or fast numbers and fleet, the guy sings as if it would go to his life - very strong! "I seek no other life", "High and Low", "Sealing My Fate", "Trail of Murder", "setting fire to the earth", "Older and Wiser" and "Listen to the storm" are songs which produces outstanding just bring all Power Metal distinguished. Also, the oriental-looking "Akhenaton" are just awesome with the well as an intro imaginary instrumental "Temple of the Sun" and remain a lasting memory in. With "As Daylight Breaks" have "Serious Black" then even a beautiful ballad on Start - Metal Heart what you want more?
As luck would have it so I "Serious Black" saw yesterday in the opening act of "Hammerfall" and I can tell you: They're really cool on it and give on the stage on the gas! This sing-along anthems are made for live concerts, I was very enthusiastic about her appearance and would like more of them in future hear and see! Even after her appearance were still at their booth and talked with the fans, signing autographs and be photographed - as Hammerfall were already in the shower! I really was strong and incredibly personable!
My conclusion: "As Daylight Breaks" has become a very varied, multifaceted and balanced album that has captivated me from the first moment and banned. This album you realize to which the guys are hot and have lots of fun in their music - HAMMER debut!
