Maria Solheim (22), born and raised in the tiny northern Norway Øksnes municipality in Vesterålen (north of Lofoten). On the weekend when she celebrated her 15th birthday, she began to play the guitar. Half a year later, in the summer of 1997, she was discovered when she appeared at a party in a fishing village in their home community. Their debut album "Barefoot", and two years after released their second album "Behind closed doors" has already clarified what extraordinary talent she has to pack small stories of her life in beautiful, soulful songs. "Frail" connects hereto seamlessly. I find it hard to make a direct comparison to other name, would Maria be not fair, because it has found its very own remarkable style songwriting, which is also reflected in the understated arrangements, whereby each song in turn his own Authensität receives. Their songs are mostly melancholic, feeling strong and profound, her voice clear, warm and fragile. In her concerts she tells the audience about their stories of how they were created and what they are supposed to express. And when they, as a small, shy girl on stage and sing, it is closed by the audience inevitably immediately into the heart. And there she has also earned a place.
