I discovered by accident with the author "Janua Vera" collection of stories of the Old World, where we meet Don Benvenuto and learn how he entered the service of the Podesta Ducatore. Immediately after this great discovery, I decided to read "Winning the War." What a good idea! Already I find that style is an exemplary fluidity, but never sacrifice the interest of the story. The author knows how to keep a dynamic to the whole, we feel (for me) the influence of role play in which one discovers all the narrative qualities without suffering the cliches found in many books of its kind .. . And, rare in this kind of work, after a first pleasant person, the rest is still more pleasant, and it will crescendo! Usually, once the book has delivered its plot, the interest falls, it was embedded but we are forced to row to the end. Here, the story continues with a host of surprises but always thoughtful, always consistent, everything fits into the overall story very natural way, and the story is fully book until the last pages. One can even say every word!
