Previously not everything was better, but for the TomTom is the saying. It's frightening how a company gambled their reputation. Actually, I should have been warned some reviewers have already written: The software of the device sucks. Unfortunately I let myself be blinded by the promised features and buy the device anyway. In detail: The navigation works properly, route calculation, accuracy, presentation are already nowadays in almost all devices OK. So what is so bad at TomTom? First, the destination entry. Cumbersome reaction of Navis repeatedly lead to double letters which have to be deleted. The list of proposals to be activated by delicate pressure of a button while driving almost impossible. Common place names like "Berlin Hauptbahnhof" or "Braunschweig Stadthalle" are - as indeed in many Navis - not included (why everyone in Google and not in Navi?). After entering the destination, the device does not go about in the navigation mode, but calculates the route and asks if you want to proceed because. Hello, nor are you? What is this query? Also in other places is back in demand often like whether you should be as safe or whether you might want something else entirely. To confirm, those queries on tiny buttons, although the whole screen is available. For me every reason to doubt the minds of developers and their management. Worse yet is when you want to use voice commands and / or Bluetooth. The voice control is useless for navigation. In no event shall I have succeeded even after several repetitions, enter a destination by voice control. The unit sees the most abstruse addresses. Since one can not proceed hierarchically here (ie first city, then street, then house number), but everything is in one sentence, it is hardly surprising that the device does not understand the operator. Even a Buchstabierfunktion missing. Thus, the user would have - albeit with difficulty - a chance to get by spelling out the goal. But again: What the hell is going on in the minds of developers? Who dares to bring such a product to market? Who hopes to choose by voice control and Bluetooth, is also alienated. One can speak a name or phone number into the device to choose. Rather, one brought the first five (!) Name of the mobile phone address book to the screen, from which you then with "one" to "five" can select a name. Is not he among them, so calling it "further" and the next five addresses (extremely slow) appears. My address has almost 100 entries, so I times "more" must call in ungüstigsten case 20 times and an average of 10. Who came up with this system, should be condemned to select a row 50 names from my address book via voice control. I'm sure this would be him a lesson! Finally, the scandal "Bluetooth". Actually, Bluetooth is easy. The mobile phone is the speakerphone and will automatically connect to it, or the hands-free system is the mobile and connects. This works perfectly for millions of hands-free devices. TomTom has obviously not noticed this. The Navi checked only once at power up, if the mobile phone is here and ready for pairing. If not, a sign with crossed out phone and the case will be settled. So if you have failed to turn on Bluetooth on your phone before you start, you have gambled. Again do not ask TomTom. It remains only to turn the Navi and back on. Dümmer gehts never. Enough complaints, the part is lousy and I advise against the purchase. TomTom should get what they deserve: No more customers.
