Major Disappointment 1

A philosopher, author confirmed the original and brilliant style, which invites us to discover our company in counterpoint to the meditations of St. Augustine! That's what I thought was the promise of an interesting read, and even a real discovery. Now, at the close of the book, I only have the feeling of having wasted my time.
That the characters are anti-heroes with poor motivation, why not. But none of them is subject to a minimum of psychological reality. No identification is possible with this zombie universe, so that the connection with the fall of Rome had the effect of sacrilege anachronism. The real subject of this false saga is the "bar", whose fate is told us in great detail, with successive attempts to make the operation profitable. Corsican bar can survive only leaning against prostitution: this could be, in short, the thesis of this book. Certainly, this strength meditation!
The existential malaise of the Roquentin Nausea appears, in comparison, like an exciting adventure. For those who love the 'trash', they (re) read the Roads to Freedom!
