I just upgraded my son the PC and wanted a large and fast hard disk.
So I'm "stuck" in this Western Digital because I have convinced the data.
The reviews are so overwhelmingly positive.

The board runs on a Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3 motherboard with an AMD Phenom II X4 965th
I have a clean installation with Windows 7 Professional 64bit performed.

The installation went in the 1st run perfectly.
The hard drive is making to this day no problem.
And acoustically (volume) it operates properly.

Conclusion:

The WD10EARX Green runs very smoothly and quietly for a conventional hard drive.
I would buy it immediately.
