Atmorsphärisch and linguistically excellent, the only thing that bothers me are some blunders in terms of logic.
Spoiler:
1. The Shrike must be prevented from spreading in the world power (hegemony), because this could mean the end of humanity.
- Then why are 7 pilgrims with personal concerns the solution to stop it?
- What particularly bothers me because: Each of the pilgrims to the Shrike recite a personal wish, which it met, whereas the other 6 Pilgrims land on the tree of thorns.
- Hide to a personal request (removal of Kruziform, fulfillment of the poem, etc.) stop the Shrike ??? This circumstance gives no sense and was also recognized by Dan Simmons probably because this idea is not pursued on arrival at the Time Tombs. The only wish would make the point would be to say: "Stop trying to be to eradicate the hegemony and thus humanity."
2. The Death Ray (The secret weapon of the Techno Core in Volume 2).
- When the Techno Core is so infinitely far developed and able to fake a complete Ousterinvasion, how can it be that the Techno Core - to use this weapon must at length persuaded Gladstone them - on AI consultant?
- Why not just themselves to push the button? The people who should survive in the labyrinth worlds as neurons source, could have carried it there and elsewhere.
SPOILER END
These two questions concern myself with respect to the Hyperion Cantos much because it (if I have not made a mistake himself) already deemed legal blunders of logic.
Or can someone enlighten me :)?
