His worldwide breakthrough achieved Einaudi 1996 his first solo album "Le Onde" whose title track is to be found on this CD. The artist was inspired by the published in 1931 experimental novel "The Waves" by Virginia Woolf to its gently flowing composition.
The CD is an excellent overview of the diversity Einaudi. On the album there are both pieces like "I Giorni", in which he weaves into his music African motifs as "Divenire", a suite for piano, two harps and orchestra. The latter work was inspired by three paintings on the themes of nature, life and death of the Swiss alpine painter Giovanni Segantini in the 19th century.
Einaudi's music provides a variety of cultural references to other artists here as to other countries and cultures. The CD helps smooth the sophisticated relax and let the thoughts fly freely.
