Some may find this volume a bit long because, as all authors who plan to write an extensive saga, Jordan takes his time and is in no hurry to bring the reader to the basics. "The Wheel of Time" mainly aims to build the characters - including psychology amply developed - and plant a setting: a country, of pleuples, creatures, that we discover (classic way) during ' a journey undertaken by the hero. For my part, I was a little frustrated, once reached the end of this first volume of not knowing anything at first on the bottom of the plot, this mysterious evil that hangs over the world . The main characters do not understand much about what happens to them and the reader does not know more than them; he is made to only the alms of a few bits of information into 490 pages, hence some impatience. In this volume, Jordan therefore a kind of creation, rather promising, so I will read more eagerly hoping it will not make me too languish before entering the thick of it.
