Strange Clouds (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Two years ago BoB brought with his debut "The Adventures of Bobby Ray" a much-needed breath of fresh air in the increasingly losing importance label Grand Hustle. Although very trendy, yet high quality and far from plates Gangsta attitudes, the boy from ATL has quickly created a fan base that stretched waited naturally to the sophomore "Strange Clouds". With a proud number of 15 songs and numerous guests to 2012 so the step to be managed by the successful debut for peers successor. How Bobby Ray Simmons suggests it, we consider now.

The first words of "Strange Clouds" are not about BoB, but Hollywood legend Morgan Freeman, who speaks the intro to "Bombs Away". After showing the young MC, that he has learned in the past two years and presents itself to quite confidently. The matching production affects powerful and energetic, pumped with deep bass, thanks to the heroic acts backing singers and explodes in the chorus almost in a freshen synth thunderstorms. Great debut! Clearly it can be permeable BoB with "Ray Bands", a little word game with a trendy eyewear manufacturer, tackle. Basically, the entire track appears quite simple. Dry Beat, cool rhythm and a little electric organ accompaniment paired with a few electronic elements. In a unit, however, all this interacts with BoB ultra cool indeed and could well pass for a club track. Thoughtful and sensitive, however it comes with "So Hard To Breathe" on. Here we are told Bobby Ray from the Struggle of life and the dark side of Fames, which provides the basis of the acoustic guitar accompaniment for orderly goosebumps.

Lil Wayne are located on the title track "Strange Clouds" the honor. The clouds to the it rotates are basically smoke produced during consumption of joints. The music that accompanies the two, is quite freaky. On the one hand thunders a wacky Beat, on the other continues to set a melody that seems to be from another universe - very cool. One of the highlights of the disc is undoubtedly "So Good". The track makes its name and enchants with brisk sounds that provide a good mood, what Bobby's vocals in the chorus emphasizes once again. Also label boss TI is not missing, of course. His appearance we experience with "Arena", in which also Chris Brown is one of the party. Its content revolves around no more than self-congratulation, but can convince the song. This is due to the mix of verses bursting with force with the fairly quiet and smooth piano hook with Chris Brown song. Damn crazy and penetrant rumbles "Out Of My Mind" from the Speaker. For some awesome, for others annoying, especially with Nicki Minaj a guest here is that divides opinions.

"Never Let You Go" (feat. Ryan Tedder) is a much easier to identify than real hit. With a fast pace and accompanied by a guitar and a banjo this Love Song is quickly becoming the earwig. At the same time this is also the perfect transition to "Chandelier", the grooves and at least as with Bob and Mae Lauriana can boast a great discordant duo. As all good things come in threes, the hit single "Circles" complements the series of love songs. And like its predecessors, can this piece with its Drive score. The final phase is initiated with the quieter "Just A Sign" (feat. Playboy Tre) continued the pop duet "Castles" with Trey Songz and finally with the grandiose "Where Are You (BoB vs. Bobby Ray)" completed. In this last track, the 23-year-old with his two egos, the showman Bob and the family man Bobby Ray is dealing critically. The basis for this is the wonderful piano playing, which is gaining momentum, as done for Bob's Rapstyle and includes a great album with a real highlight.

"Strange Clouds" is full of variety and quality songs. While even the odd mediocre with the process as a whole but Bob can convince as already in his debut and shows up with improved flow. I look forward now to a successor.
