More coverage

Since the range of the wireless in my Fritz! Box 7390 is unfortunately rather limited, I had to resort to cover my entire apartment to a repeater. The repeater is connected via Wi-Fi with the box, the Gigabit LAN port I do not use. Here, as determined by me advantages and disadvantages in a short overview:

Benefits:
- The installation is very simple and without any problems in conjunction with the Fritz! Box.
- The range of increase really significantly. Leaving aside, for example also in the wireless smartphone app of AVM; one stands between Box and repeater, the repeater appears much stronger.
- High speed in N-Standard.
- Includes a Gigabit LAN port.
- Is very handy and fits almost anywhere.
- As with the Fritz boxes very clear and comprehensive interface.

Disadvantages:
- Operates only in the 2.4 GHz band, 5 GHz is left out, also the new ac standard is not supported. Because of the latest 450E Repeater by AVM is, I would have been expecting. In older 300E has still at least a choice of 2 and 5 GHz.
- The settings in the Fritz box to allow only known WLAN devices will not seem to take effect.
- If you switch the Wi-Fi in the Fritz box from Arnold Böcklin (vacation, restart, etc.) you have to connect the repeater again!. I would here expect an automatic connection after the initial setup. Do other wireless devices, too.
