Chivalry lets you play as the soldiers of the middle ages on different battlefields. A classic team against team objectives for each conflict to carry your team to victory. These range from taking castle defense of a village through the rescue your king or the assassination of opponent's king.
Once the tutorial done (do not go near it, it's just mandatory!), You're throwing on the ground. Above all, however, it will choose between 4 classes available (changeable after each death), the classic infantry soldier who has the speed advantage, the archer who will be the distance to his advantage, the knight who will be the "tank" well protected and heavily armed in however sacrificing the speed and the joint between the conquering knight and the infantry soldier. Overall, the class balance is really well done and there is fun to play regardless of the class. The scale advantages / disadvantages of each is thoughtful and remains its up to you to make the difference.
Each class attitrées different weapons and you must unlock as and measure your progress (this remains easy especially that there is no real weapons "cheated"). Each weapon indeed its own characteristics that will need to understand to make the most (damage, speed, lie ...). We find something to fill the happiness of all (axes, maces, swords, plague, shield, spears ...). Will complement coughed siege weapons that border some maps (catapults / triggerfish).
The gameplay consists of several elements that bring a little complexity to the commitments. You have a life bar and "fatigue" that will run out at each stroke or parade, which only benefit when you will be quiet. The loss of life is final.
So there you are to understand each possible move (front, side, height) to use your parade (more or less developed in accordance with weapons at your disposal) and break the parades of your enemies. And there just parenthetically, that's fucking good to have duels that do not last half a second as in any modern FPS games. Finally expected of you anything but the "ease". Finally is expected of you to pull out your skill. Duels can be really technical and you have to use everything to get away. Beatings, parades, field (a soldier with a great weapon can eg really make lateral movement in a narrow corridor which actually penalizes being its most powerful movement). Similarly we must learn to manage his allies as a well-placed sword decide the head of your enemy like your ally. Here the fratricidal murder is commonplace and it is also up to you to take advantage. It is not unusual that if you find a 1vs3 enemies lose life without you but just to touch the playing of the defense and the awkwardness of your enemies. One false step, and it's your head that will fly.
Graphically the game is doing correctly. Do not expect, however, to take a slap because the game is meant fluid so there is necessarily the sacrifice made on that side. However there are some good effects. Ah the game wants extremely gory. Decapitation and dismemberment are more than aware!
Another good point is the atmosphere. It is rarely seen in this kind of multiplayer game. There is a certain pleasure in charge in spamming the button to scream your character. All the players doing the same, we truly believe in a load of soldiers ready for battle and give their lives. Similarly with every blow your character will tend to express his rage which adds more again. This may sound silly like that reading, but once the game if you try the experience you can understand. Battlegrounds also help with many details.
The game is well populated and it is very easy to find a game. Besides, it is nice to see that some servers are dedicated to beginners.
The negatives because yes we must spend.
- The hitbox. Connection problem or problem of the game I do not know. But it is not uncommon to be killed by an enemy who turns his back on you and decides to make a shot before him. You take damage even if you are not in the firing line. Most of the time we laugh but sometimes it's frustrating. Just two enemies that will make the same movement with the same weapon, same timing, same angle and not everything will necessarily by the same result damage. There are many such situation but overall its still manage.
- Morality. Yes, because why not dismember soldiers. But some objectives are to kill poor villagers who 'did nothing and are totally disarmed. I understand that at the time was to be his routine but it can be a bit annoying nonetheless.
- The game is greedy as you need a good machine.
- The shop. Not really negative because at the end everything is purely aesthetic and a game so cheap we can forgive to want to make money on the DLC of this caliber.
Game forbidden under 18 being given the violence of the fighting.
Game under Steam code.
Note that there is an edition "complete" via Steam with additional game modes that provide scenarios of another age (Spartans, Ninja, Pirates ...).
Sure you may be able to get a better deal through the purchase of a code rather than the boxed version (personally I had the game for less than 5 complete edition).
A game that is definitely worth seeing and should be welcomed.
