You start the campaign by one chooses between three characters, as there would be a dwarf as a classic melee (with ranged ambitions), an elf as skilled (healer, magician) and a Ranger as a ranged (melee ambitions). Immediately after the opening sequence begins (the little Fehlvertont was in German. This is, however, immediately after the first meeting in Bree!) And you're right in the middle in the ring war on the northern front.
The graphical presentation is fine average. Nothing extraordinary, but definitely not done badly. You can see the differences in Rünstungs- and weapons change to the characters (there are always all three on the road, which you control a character itself), and the control is Genre usual, which is quick to learn: a button for normal attack, one for heavy one to block and the rockers for the bow / crossbow. In addition there are special skills that can be aufstufen per character in three skill trees.
The sound is not epic, but consistent and not disturbing. The areas have unfortunately become somewhat tubular and often separated by transitions. Although you can change quite freely over the map to all previously visited places, but an "Open World" feeling is not really on.
All this would LotR: make KiN at an average game were it not for the multiplayer part. Here KiN trumps correctly. Who eventually plays Lord of the Rings Online, will immediately feel at home here, even if you do not play together with thousands of other players hudnerten UDN.
The entire character presentation is a front immediately known and if you trudge for two (at a console in split-screen or online) or three (online) by Fornost, Moria or Mirkwood, its commitment to Controller not soon out of his hand. However, the RPG part is a little too short, so I would call KiN rather than hack'n'slay title. But that should really be nothing negative;)
It could be a mixture of "Hunted" and "Dungeon Siege 3" describe with a little more depth in the character development and presentation.
Conclusion
*****
Solo adventurer and LOTR fans will certainly have fun with this game (4 stars). His true strengths you get but only in combination with others to face (5 star) and co-player can not get past this game. If you prefer something a role playing game, is better off with Skyrim & Co..
The bottom line is a really good implementation of LotR franchise that captivates many hours on the screen.
