Black Holes & Revelations (digipack) (Audio CD)

Customer Review

What an album! I have often wondered what might come after the successful previous albums yet or how this could still increase, but had no idea .. now I think the proof in his hands: Muse have once again outdone themselves.

"Black Holes & Revelations' seems to have been written to the critics to take any wind out of the sails - which is the most snappy be be taught course among them never - but what there is on this disc because even criticize? This album is just incredibly versatile and original, you will be thrown while listening from one world to another, and the z. T., even during a single song! As an example here would be Hoodoo call - pure drama, the interplay between Matt Bellamy's unique voice, his excellent piano playing and the excellent nose, as you know a song with voltage, life and feeling, is a hallmark of the front man of only 3 (!) -köpfigen band that has not recently catapult for me with this album in the Olympus of rock music! Boredom is an attribute that here simply does not square, the album is very playful, electronic, oriental and even Western-like elements mingle with pleasant rock music, harder pieces there is really only one (Assassin) and this is by and by melodic and succeeded.

Belammy has in some songs his voice in 3 different heights traces superimposed (Exo-Politics, Knights of Cydonia), which - as has been recognized more frequently and rightly - very reminiscent of Queen. Trumpets can be heard for the first time on this album and in Supermassive Black Hole comes Matts beloved falsetto consistently used most recently in microcuts!

What is a first leaves a bit perplexed that strange album cover: 4 futuristic men in the Grand Canyon, sitting with morose eyes on wooden chairs around a table with miniature horses, while high in the sky, the earth can be seen together with fading moon. This scenario is probably related to the last song Knights of Cydonia (Cydonia = the legendary Face on Mars). The song begins with the trampling of horses, it is shot with laser weapons in the background the sound of a .. UFOs? Fits in any case the image of the Grand Canyon as Mars, horses can be seen, and the 4 men - about the Knights of Cydonia personally? Would you apply this Title to the 3 equally futuristic men who created this album, so it would probably fit well.

"You and I must fight for our rights, You and I must fight to survive" Matt sings in said titles, and the band fights well, namely the fight against obscurity. 3 people I asked lately if you know the band Muse, but unfortunately they seem here in Germany so much stuck in the Alternative corner that no one knew to do something with this name. I wish the band anyway, that it manages to be internationally known, and more than an insider tip on the Mars crater UK also. Good luck, Knight of the Mars ..
