Only I really would like therefore to sell my DSLR equipment and invest in the excellent prime lenses from Fuji, were it not for the problem with the auto focus. To put it bluntly: We're not talking of that Fuji also under optimal light conditions a few tenths of a second slower than the Nikon focused. That does not bother me at all in practice. In low light conditions (eg typical living room lighting in winter) but will pass by several times seconds not, or the Fuji is not the focal point and only after several attempts. Then moves the object even (eg children) is the exception rather than the rule, or the moment long gone a sharp image. In such situations, then all joy at the great handling and the light weight (compared to a DSLR) is forgotten.
I am therefore looking forward to the promised by Fuji improvements with the next firmware update. Compared to the X-Pro1 with the 35mm 1.4 lens I can the alleged improvement of autofocus behavior anyway do not understand, on the contrary (I suspect it is due to the lower light intensity of the zoom lens).
My conclusion: The XE 1 is a fantastic addition to a high quality DSLR for me. I am glad that I now can on occasion leave my heavy DSL equipment at home. Whether it can replace a DSLR completely despite the autofocus problem is highly dependent on the intended use and, ultimately, every photographer has to judge for themselves.
