About the modified display of the PSP 3000 series I had inquired in advance and am in the process become the benefits (improved color saturation and contrast) and the defects (interlacing problem and the resulting Scanlines) attention. The higher contrast and brighter colors actually represent a significant improvement and let the screens of previous models look very pale in comparison. Were it not only the already mentioned Scanlines so visible horizontal lines that occur in fast motion and high contrast differences that tarnish the game or movie experience. The opinions appear here going from "barely perceptible" to "absolutely unacceptable" to disperse but may be denied the problem. I for one find it extremely disturbing because fast movements are in almost all games and movies on the agenda and the Scanlines therefore occur very frequently. Basically, I wonder how it has managed so the product through quality control. The manufacturer is aware of the problem but unfortunately nothing is done. Much worse, it is not even noted.
And yet, a crucial point kept me from getting the PSP immediately return again. The brightness and contrast improvements and optimized anti-reflective coating of the display will now cause that with the new PSP outdoors (at least in the shade) can play sensibly. For me, a very important factor, since handhelds define especially on their mobility.
Despite all the justified criticism because of negligence on the new screen is and remains the PSP a worthwhile (and stylish) handheld that all conventional multimedia capabilities together (games, movies, music, internet) in yourself. However, whether one takes the current model or one of the predecessors, you should find out for himself in a direct comparison is best.
