Dead Space 2 is the best game since Doom 3. A mixture of Bioshock, Doom 3 and Deus Ex 2 and plays like a horror movie really toxic.
What I do not like is the console third-person view, but this game should that be forgiven.
The atmosphere in this game is everything so far in the shade. Not a single ID Software game has offered such an oppressive and at the same time credible gaming experience. Once I've been through, I'm going to play it again. Since it is a bit hard-nosed play the second time and can concentrate on the sometimes ingenious level graphics.
I have not played Dead Space 1 and therefore refer only to the second part.
The whole thing takes place on a space station that is completely plunged into chaos, and all sorts of other subjects mutated Monstervölkchen. The opponents are top notch. The first game, in which you got made it clear from the first minute that this conclusion is funny. There is no quick save function, but well-placed storage stations. The tenfold the tension in the Levels sometimes disquieting manner. I ca 3/4 by and nothing was hitherto classified as unfair. In some places you have to brood over something. A Boss opponent I saw something 20 times, until I came behind them, how to bring this fury about the route. The term Furie applies to almost all of the rich and different opponents. One knock after some sections, even persuasively courage on his shoulder, that one has survived.
First-class localization into German, what games graphics as well as texts and synchronization concerns - professional and mature cinema. A role-playing part is in there too. One can the suit for example. change, improve and upgrade weapons. Incidentally, not an unrealistic rumschleppen of 6 or more weapons, I have (a !!!!!) specialize in one weapon, and can thus carry everything to Manitu in the happy hunting grounds. Until the end of the game I have this to their limits safely upgraded (damage, clip size, load time ....). More weapons, 2 or more, will be difficult - due to limited inventory, as well as ammunition robbed inventory slots and one would so distribute weapons expensive upgrades, which, in my view, rather nonsense and waste. Dear structured inventory, which allows you to carry around a lot and flog in the shops, at great expense. Even ammo collected for other weapons brings rich money and it's worth it once, for a shop selling, again prowl in the level and collect the scattered items that did not fit into your inventory, so come quickly times 10000 credit together, for There are two "Upgrade node", so to speak, for free.
The graphics are excellent, very playful detail and extremely atmospheric, on the state of the art and very very fluid - old with my two years computer (HP Quad Core - GTX260) I have consistently more than 50 fps at 1920x1080, usually more than 80 fps. Even in 3D mode (NVIDIA 3D Vision) even 40 fps.
For Audio: This makes up approximately 50% of the Games from. The soundscape is the impeller in this game. It frightens already when pushed a box. You listen to every sound, if that is not the next Furie. I can hardly imagine how could something exciting stage.
Many games will have to be judged in the future, in this genre, at DS2.
Must again to the Space-front, a few mutants spank Ar_ch :-)
