The Voices:
Evita - Madonna
Che Guevara - Antonio Banderas
Peron - Jonathan Pryce
Magaldi - Jimmy Nail
You can call the film rightly to conventionally. The music playback but is quite remarkable. Madonna can withstand the comparison with Julie Covington and Elaine Paige well. Banderas is also quite good voice. Only with Jonathan Pryce, I would cut back. He is a far better actor than singer (that is why he was indeed occupied).
"Evita" (1976) is one of the first musicals Lloyd Webber and I think also his best. Lose ajar on career later Eva Duarte Peron president's wife (1919 - 1952) shows the musical scenes of her life, the Begenung with Guevara is purely fictitious. The filming of Parker differs somewhat from the original: One of the best songs ("Another Suitcase in Another Hall") is sung not by Peron's former lover, but from Evita herself. Probably one of the centrepieces Madonna wanted to secure itself and not left to another singer. "You must love me" was composed by Webber especially for the film, I think it is one of the weaker pieces. Two changes that the musical is not necessarily utilized. Absolute highlights are "Buenes Aires" (Evita's paean to the city), "Rainbow High" (Evita's triumphant European tour, "I came to the people, They need to adore me") and "Waltz for Evita and Che" (Evita's last debate with Guevara in the face of death). Too bad that the enclosed booklet only shows scenes from the film and not abdruckt the lyrics by Tim Rice. One reason of the success of Evita are certainly the pointed lyrics.
If I instead of 5 star forgive only 4, it is because I think the first recording from 1976 for unsurpassed and the booklet too narcissistic turns to the moviegoers and nothing reveals about the musical itself.
