new shining star in the sky camera

since about 4 weeks I have the X-E1 with the kit lens XF18-55mm.
for me for a long time a revival of my quite something decayed photo euphoria.
the X-E1 really tops everything so far ran me to cameras on the way.
an inveterate Canon fan, it was a complete system change for me.
(Still have a Canon 5Dmk2 + several good objective and also a compact Canon G1X, both also top-cameras)

I must say, it was surprisingly easy to me.
which was of course at this little Fuji, that I love in this relatively short time and have learned to appreciate.
Of course I had read on the internet a lot about the X-E1, nevertheless, when I looked at the first time even through the viewfinder, I knew immediately: "That's her!"
so I had a viewfinder image always imagined: bright, clear, very clear, with a variety of digital display, 100% view, etc etc.
Viewfinder picture is fantastic clear displays brilliant colors, is knackscharf, an electronic level, and all other information can be faded. finally it has hinbekommen a manufacturer time to bring a camera with such a class-seekers to market exactly what most photographers have always presented the same way.
there remain nothing to be desired
Switching from the viewfinder on the display by the eye sensor works perfectly.
course were my tech. data and diverse possibilities of this camera already known, but that it was all so impressive, has surprised me but then.
already the jpeg`s with this camera are top-notch, absolute top quality.
this camera is right almost everything. it's just not a real craft device with which you can not just start "snaps", but really photographed.
it produces much less waste. the photographer can look forward to a camera that not only noble feels, but also noble to use, manual labor is in demand.
finally the feeling of being one with the machine ... and oddly enough also to constantly learn.
the X-E1 manages to bring its users to be more creative.
you really learn to fully exploit by itself and with joy the possibilities of manual settings.
you will be rewarded with fantastic image quality ... and that even with relatively high ISO values.
to ISO 3200 actually no visible loss of quality.
As a result, very good low-light tap opportunities
Camera is a high quality finish that make turning wheels to operate well with the thumb.
Settings takes you on the "quick" button at the best on the screen before.
via the Quick Menu has comfortable and quick access to all major settings.
with the AF button to set the size and placement of the measuring field.
The small rotary control (camera back) at the same time to press a combination switch and is responsible for the 3/10 loupe, fokkussieren a super help manual. you can make very precise sharp in the viewfinder while holding the magnifying glass.
the freely configurable Fn key I have assigned the aperture preview. which allows even before the trigger effects of dazzle change through the viewfinder to view it directly. the AF speed scored no world records, but is not exactly slow. actually you focused with such a camera anyway manually.

if you should now believe the pre-announcements, then the problem with the faster AF has now already received the new X100s to grips Fuji. (Is already presented on the Internet as the world's fastest AF)
in addition to the contrast AF, the X100s uses now the phase AF, both combined, and is thus the speed of light ... the so-called hybrid solution.
Another new feature is a digital split image and focus peaking to focus for even better.
this is innovations fuji installing certainly also in the next generation of X-E1 (X-E2 or X-E1s), but this is taking place determined until next year because the current model on the market is still too young.
to be Leica at introducing such a camera and others must put suspicious warm.
Fuji is the X-E1 until then surely (hopefully :-)) delight owners with some soft / firmware update, which will bring one or the other improvement also in advance.

Today a comparative test the image quality of the system cameras:
Fuji X-E1 with 18-55mm against Sony NEX-7 with 18-55mm
hardware, everyone should do his own image, is best also in the techn. data read.
a photo-mate Sony NEX-7 kit has done.
we both cameras set on a tripod and made with equal settings various test photos.
it was quite sobering for Sony Group ... :-) after we compared the photos on the computer together.
in almost all settings hit the Fuji the NEX7 easily.
really dramatic it was at higher ISO settings. from ISO 1600 which Sony did not even stand a chance.
at higher ISOs the Sony spat basically from only Pixelbrei.
It is fair to say this but also that the NEX7 would have something objectively looked better with another (or higher quality).

Addendum dated 22:08:13
had me a few days ago to the latest firmware update (body 2.0 - 3.0 lens) dared to venture.
the AF has become actually faster and more accurate, now the autofocus is really noticeably better use, so a good improvement.
the 2.te innovation, the Focus Peaking, is not wirlich so the hit, if you like it, you want it to use. In my opinion, you can do without it. better if I had a split-image indicator found ... but it gives it according to information provided by Fuji, only in the X100s, or in the next X-E1-generation.

nevertheless, the faster AF is to all cases before class.
