Nick Magnus has spent much of his career in the second row as a keyboardist of Ex-Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett. If you listen to "Children of Another God", so you realize how big the influence of Magnus' on the Hackett albums really was: immense. Almost single-handedly the keys player has recorded his new work. Everything on his computer - but the album sounds fresh, symphonic and not electronically-artificial, even if almost all the guitars and the drums from the sample box originate. Only on the song "Colony is King" then attacks his old friend Steve again in person in the real strings. Nick Magnus is also a brilliant composer. The tracks on the album make all really fun, the guest vocalists and musicians are well chosen. Unfortunately, the CD is to get here from Amazon only to a totally inflated price. On Nick Magnus' website you can purchase them for half. All who love the middle Genesis and the early solo Hackett and are not pinned at this time, will love "Children of Another God".
