Until recently I have used the method smsTAN Sparkasse. This seemed very safe and comfortable until the message came through the press that this system has been bypassed. As previously only secure system chipTAN system was recommended. So I bought the TAN generator of ReinerSCT. The model is so very inexpensive. The delivery was very quick. In the inside of the package first indications are to serve. The complete user can be downloaded from [...] down. It is 13 pages long and explains exactly how to operate the device. Energy concerns there of two CR-2025 cells that should be enough for a while. If not, can the battery door slightly open by hand and replace the batteries. To save power, the TAN generator switched after 30 seconds of inactivity on itself. To protect against the accidental pressing wrong buttons, the device has a cover which completely covers the keyboard with the exception of four buttons. This is the optical method anyway unnecessary. The cover is for me a little stiff - you have to make an effort to push away quite in order. On the top there is a two-line LCD display. If there is insufficient light of this, however, is difficult to read.
Synchronization with the bank took place without any problems. The TAN generator has front phototransistors, of which an animated bar graph can be captured on the screen. At the other end you have previously insert the debit card and from a TAN is then generated.
In addition, the TAN generator on the possibility has the cash card function of debit card read. Since I had never tried this, I have charged the debit card at an ATM with 25 euros and had then bought stamps and two tickets. On Rainersct tanJack optic CX can leave the current monetary and credit cards the last 15 write-offs and three charging processes show. Also the works fine.
Conclusion: I can definitely recommend the TAN generator on. It is easy to operate and safe to use. Only negatives are the stiff cover of the keyboard and in low light conditions difficult-to-read display. Here a switchable backlight would not have been bad.
