Why? I see 2 reasons:
Eric Woolfson had this album "Poe: More Tales ..." to call!
The first album of the Projects was a milestone of pop music, who in 1977 set new standards in the marriage of classical music and pop. Now, a new milestone can not put More Tales in 2003. Therefore such expectations naturally be disappointed.
Also, most buyers / Rezendenten have probably bought this album as long-time fans of the Alan Parsons Project. The musical style of More Tales is however rather settled between melodic pop ballads and musicals and was less experimental than the Project. Certainly one reason why some are disappointed.
But if you rather the melodic part of the "Projects" likes, then this album is excellent! In my opinion it is even the best album of the "Projects" if I times the solo albums by AP and EW easy with einrechne. I especially like "Immortal" and "Somewhere In The Audience".
Another plus is the excellent recording quality. Especially in connection with the orchestral instrumentation, the album is on a high-quality stereo system undoubtedly an audiophile pleasure.
My Advice:
Who the project va "the turn of a friendly card" and the original "Poe: Tales ..." album like, I advise More Tales of decreasing. For those that rather "Vulture Culture" or "Gaudi" like I put this album in his heart.
