XCOM: Enemy Unknown - Special Edition (computer game)

Customer Review

So straight from the start:
Yes, there have been some changes to the original, and yes I have doubted whether it really so over brings the as then. But I have to say that me XCOM: Enemy Unknown almost 100% so captivates exactly how time UFO: Enemy Unknown.

So far I have not yet managed by the game, but that would be a bit much after a few days of release.

Now in more detail:
The base - The Anthill:
Beautifully clear thanks to the relevant menu buttons. Designed with love, everywhere hidden even small nuances (In the "barracks" one sees soldiers spend their leisure time). Researches and constructions are logically tied together as in the original, and just bring the memories of that time (even if there is felt to explore a little less).
In the barracks you can also customize their soldier glorious, but this can cause one's almost sad when a soldier faded away.
Novum:
The monitoring system with the satellite over the individual countries. Interesting and beginning something challenging to place the satellite always in the right place (ie select the correct country there to increase the satisfaction of again)

The Battle Maps:
Beautifully designed (although some complain that you have the individual countries is not something appreciated more in the representation - China looks like America looks like Argentina ...). But that's complain at very high levels.
The tactical options are slightly changed. One can no longer Kneeling itself, but must explicitly seek cover and then already makes the soldier of itself. The opponents are nich completely stupid, but on the previous levels of difficulty, which I have played, not too demanding. It seems a bit lighter than the original (but also may simply be that you're turned 18 years older and some mistakes of the past no longer makes :-)).

The action sequences during the fighting are nicely placed and loosen the brain but strategically required on every now and then. (Even if the sequences naturally repeat sometime - they remain interesting)

The Opponents:
All known alien races of the original can be found in a modernized form. Although I must say, just makes you want the way, as they are now presented on. Certain opponents there in verschiednen variants, but since I do not want to reveal too much here and just say, look forward to it to make this the first time. This may surprise you already pretty.

Multiplayer:
Is new and I have not yet seen - but I think I'll only do it at some point in the distant future. Who needs it at XCOM? Koop would have been any more interesting than PVP.

CONCLUSION:
Clear my game of the year.
Fun: 5/5 stars
Nostalgia factor: 5/5 stars (I remember now even back to the name of my former soldiers)
Graphics: 4/5 stars (why only 4 - because in some places it could still go a bit better - but as I said, it whines at a high level
Sound: (convince both the background music and the sound effects me completely) 5/5 Star
Long-term motivation: 5/5 (much verschiedne difficulty - the IronmanModus and and and)

Even the content of the Special edition:
The art book is very well designed, the patch is a nice gimmick, unfortunately the soundtrack is just as .wav files on the second DVD, as does the "tones for mobile phones" (the soundtrack could be to draw on MP3). In addition, wallpapers on the second DVD are quite nice.

So from my side a strong buy recommendation for those who know the original.
For newcomers to this genre I can only say that with XCOM: Enemy Unknown is a good place to start is possible, even if the beginning is a lot to learn.
