But what bothers me is that he is often referred to as a pure blues guitarist, denndas he is far from being - what he has proven with "So, It's Like That". Who looks more like the blues towards this album, and ideally from early pieces like Rory Gallager or Cream expected (which Joe always called as a strong influence on him) will be disappointed. These are just too many pop numbers on this album ("My Mistake", "Never Say Goodbye", "Waiting for me", "Unbroken") represented - a trend that Joe has taken even in later albums often.
However, when one of her musical tastes - like me - rather yet still loves the rock and blues influences, which will not make a mistake with this album. I am in the fortunate position of being able to name all the albums of Joe my own, and my personal opinion is, "So, It's Like That" perhaps the strongest album that he has released a total. Catchy songs like "Stick in Love," "Lie, No 1" or "Under the Radar" characterize a lasting one, and also the aforementioned poppier numbers invite you to relax and dream.
Some accuse him of in this album that it is applied commercially. Deny entirely that probably can not be - but who cares if you still maintains a great album in my hands? Who likes Joe Bonamassa and not a pure blues fan, this album should be set in any case. Can do much wrong with it, anyway.
