Not like before, yet still awesome!

I have been following the career, remixes and other productions of Above & Beyond already a few years since I was at that time by the really ingenious remix of Madonna's "What It Feels Like for a Girl" in 2000 attention to the trio. Especially the "Anjunabeats" series stood out here from the usual trance compilations of several other DJs from where the last 3 volumes not quite corresponded to the level of how it was used previously. Since the release of "Group Therapy" was just right, the first solo album of the guys, followed by "Acoustic", where you have to say then that this is a daring experiment to present Trance Hits in chilling orchestral sound. Almost a year later now follows the third solo album of the guys, which finds its way back again to their roots and I was pleasantly surprised how well the still functioning, in particular with the well-known singer "Zoë Johnston". There are also new solo artist as "Alex Vargas" (there are several songs from it that can be found on YouTube) and "Gemma Hayes" to hear. What has not changed the manner in which the titles have been arranged as in the CD. So do not go as it was in "Group Therapy" some tracks seamlessly over, others. I personally do not mind, because the album only unfolds its special character in full Listen. Nevertheless, it would have been nice if they had an alternative to still produced a CD with single versions.

Among the titles in: Total must hold that this is not a 100% dance album, because between every now and some quieter songs like "Little Something" or "Sink the Lighthouse" are, but only after approx 30 min duration and finally a little more often. Nevertheless, the title very worth listening to, and the transitions are suitable. However, just awakened the meaner pieces with me the impression that one is also here more and more mainstream trance, which is particularly evident in "Action Blue Sky" and "Sticky Fingers". The sound plugins used there for me to go a little too much toward commercial "Tröten-Techno" á la Tiësto & Co. By contrast, titles such as "Out of time" (my particular favorite) and "Hello" as one of the boys the earlier times knows - An ingenious blend of Progressive Trance & Sounds of a very special sort, when simply everything fits together and a unique sound world revealed, especially through headphones. Then there are some titles that can be called a "halfway house" of both. "We're all we need" and "All Over The World" are such examples, but ultimately come already to the standard I expect from the guys. By contrast, my sounds "Fly to New York," "Excuses" and "Save me" again a little too mainstream moderate.

Overall, I am satisfied with the result and the album can thoroughly recommend to anyone who is not only to mainstream Trance and Techno-0815. However, for me does not reach the standard of the previous album Above & Beyond Anjunabeats Remixes or the series to Vol. 8 and also "Group Therapy" had to offer in my opinion a few more highlights. Fans should listen to all cases before buying first. Nevertheless, a strong buy recommendation from me, especially when you have a day before for the first time experienced the guys live on stage (01.15.2015 in the "Live Music Hall" in Cologne). On the next album I wish, however, again more titles that go towards "Back 2 Roots" or away from the mainstream sound.
