On the English pages of AEG you can not find the model. It seems to have rated for the Eastern and Southern European market device, in any case be found on Google only relevant websites abroad. The division between fridge and freezer are also quite unusual. Typically the freezer ends at the level of the worktop ~ 87cm. For SCN71800 this dividing line is 91,5cm. Therefore, the standard fronts of kitchen manufacturer (Ikea) also did not fit and I had a door itself sawing (which now really is not a problem). I suppose therefore that this is a device for furniture / dealers. The division in combination with the lack of listing of the device at AEG Germany probably leads then to the low selling price ??
For the device itself can be said that it provides for 400 really a lot and having an excellent workmanship: Ordinary interior with considerable applications, display and hard door technology. No comparison to whatever we get for the money! But there are two real criticisms that I want to mention here:
1) The use of space is AEG-typical dog miserable. The internal volume of 162 / 78l corresponds almost exactly to our old IKEA K / G combo of Bauknecht. The is only 158cm high, making it all the less 20cm !! Bosch / Siemens and Co. are here a lot better and have some more liters of the same size.
2) The noise is awful. The 38dB specified are probably met but the device whistles and gurgling like a refrigerator 30 years ago. However, the worst is a periodic humming (NoFrost unit?!?!), Which sounds amazingly after vibrating alert a cell phone. The first few hours I am then always went to the phone to see what came back again.
In summary: Very well equipped, trivalent and especially effective device. Comparatively little work space. For an open kitchen Due to the soundscape absolutely unsuitable * *.
Addendum: To the sounds I could now find out that it should be used on coolant (R600a / butane). Apparently a more widespread problem that (also) AEG does not seem to have under control. : /
